Jag fattar inte varför bokbeskrivningen alltid säger att undersökningen hittar länkar till Sylvias förflutna, för det gör det inte. Just den storyn står nästintill kvar på samma ställe som i bok ett i serien. Archers böcker är långdragna men inte tråkiga. Handlingen växer fram långsamt men att påstå annat i blurben gör mig irriterad..

Jag tycker om alla karaktärerna i boken. De är skrivna så att det är svårt att ogilla dom. Till och med skurkarna är lagomt otrevliga. Archer skriver lättsamma böcker som är perfekta att läsa som mellanböcker för att rensa hjärnan. Den här gången var det nästan för lätt att se motivet bakom mordet. Det nämns under en utfrågning av en butiksägare och jag gissade redan där att där har vi lösningen på problemet. Frågan som återstod då var egentligen bara vem som utförde det. I sin enkelhet är det här en väldigt bra serie som jag verkligen har fäst mig vid. Nästa bok kommer ut i mars nästa år.

Precis som i första boken förväntade jag mig att få reda på mer om Sylvias bakgrund. Återigen blev jag lite besviken för just den delen i handlingen kommer ingen vart. Jag undrar hur författaren ska lyckas knyta ihop allt som böckernas baksidetext lovar läsaren. Nu efter att ha läst två böcker fick jag veta att det finns en serie som utspelar sig före denna. Den handlar tydligen om Gabes mamma. Den serien består av 13 böcker! Det skulle kunna förklara den långsamma utvecklingen i den här nya serien. Själva mysteriet de löser är helt okej, men inte mycket mer för jag väntar mig hela tiden att det ska knyta an till Sylvia. Trots det ser jag fram emot att få läsa nästa del, men blir det en väldigt lång serie så får jag se hur långt jag hänger med.

Lättläst bok som är kort i jämförelse med annan fantasy. Det var en perfekt bok att rensa hjärnan med för att komma ut ur min lässvacka. Det är lite romantik men som det brukar vara med den här typen av böcker är den väldigt "ren". Det som i huvudsak drev min läsning var att få veta mer om Sylvias mystiska bakgrund. Tyvärr måste jag säga att jag blev lite besviken då det mest handlade om själva mysteriet i handlingen. Så det är inte mycket som kommer fram i första boken i alla fall. Boken är i alla fall så pass intressant att jag vill fortsätta med nästa bok.
